Anaphylactic reactions to isosulfan blue dye during sentinel node lymphadenectomy for breast cancer

Abstract

Intraoperative use of isosulfan dye for lymphatic mapping may result in anaphylaxis. Furthermore, in some patients, intravascular absorption of isosulfan may induce serum discoloration causing interference with pulse oximetry function.
