About the Cover

Sep 2019; Volume 19,Issue 3

Cover image expansion

The trapezoid is the least commonly fractured carpal bone, accounting for just 4% of all carpal fractures, and few articles have been published about isolated trapezoid fractures. These fractures are not always easy to discern as the cover image shows. The posterior-anterior wrist x-ray shows no evidence of acute fracture, but the noncontrast coronal magnetic resonance image shows a nondisplaced fracture of the dorsal one-third of the right trapezoid (arrow). Access the details of this case, as well as a second case of this uncommon break, in "Approach to Isolated Trapezoid Fractures," the first article listed under Issue highlights.
