Ochsner Journal does not impose length restrictions on manuscripts, but most submissions are between 2,000 and 5,000 words.

If your article reports the results of an FDA-regulated device or drug, you must include both the IRB number and the registration number from ClinicalTrials.gov in the Methods section.

Case reports must include a rigorous discussion of clinical indications/implications.

Upload high-resolution (minimum of 200 DPI resolution) figures and photographs as separate files. Do not embed images in the text. Do not paste figures into Microsoft Word. Figures and photographs must be in appropriate image files, such as TIFF or JPEG format.

Provide color figures whenever possible. Figures and photographs are posted online in color.

__ Patient Consent Form. A signed patient consent form is REQUIRED for all case reports/case series.
__ Copyright Permission Agreement. The Ochsner Journal strongly discourages the use of previously published material. However, if you use a figure or table that has been previously published, you must acknowledge the original source and obtain written permission to reproduce the material. Obtaining a copyright permission agreement signed by the owner of the copyright is the author’s responsibility. Previously published materials without written permission will not be accepted.
